The portable underwater robot can observe and diagnose the underwater part of the bridge pile foundation from a close distance, such as: cracks, exposed tendons, shedding and other diseases. Equipped with image sonar, it can also observe the pile foundation as a whole.
Usage:
- First of all, it is necessary to choose the right time for operation, when the wind and waves are calm is the best time period to help underwater observation. Especially for cross-river and cross-sea bridges, choosing a flat tide is the best time window for operation.
- Produce a plan of operations, as far upstream as possible you may wish to equipment, panning robotically downstream to observe the pilings. Be close to the piling every half-meter interval from shallow to deep water to pan around and observe.
- Label the piles and check each pile one by one following step 2. Record video data throughout.
- Disease spots such as exposed rebar, cracking, and peeling need to be done with a focused loop repeat inspection.
- Recover robot, clean, dry and store. Check data and issue inspection report.
- Out of the report stage, for the part of the filming effect is not good, the second construction needs to supplement the filming.
- Special reminder: When inspecting the underwater pile foundation of the cross-river and cross-sea bridge, there will be large disturbing currents around the pile foundation, and it is recommended to pull the umbilical cable tightly to avoid crashing or losing the equipment.
- In high-flow waters, better results are obtained with image sonar detection.
- Special Note: For turbid waters, the addition of a water shelter will improve the results.
