Warranty Policy

Warranty Period

CHARPIE underwater ROV products are covered by a 6-month limited warranty starting from the date of manufacture.
During the warranty period, CHARPIE will provide free repair or replacement for defects in materials or workmanship under normal and proper use.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover damage or malfunction resulting from improper use, including but not limited to:
  • Physical damage (e.g. dropping, impact, or crushing)
  • Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair
  • Battery damage caused by over-discharge, incorrect charging, or misuse
  • Motor blockage due to foreign objects, sand, or debris
  • Use outside the specified operating environment or parameters
For issues falling outside warranty coverage, repair services are available and a basic material and labor fee may apply.

🔧 Product & Technical Questions

What’s the maximum depth your ROVs can operate? Our ROVs are pressure-tested and rated for depths up to 300 meters. Always check the product specifications before diving.
Does the ROV support live video streaming? Absolutely. Each unit supports real-time video transmission to your control computer. You can view live footage via QGroundControl, VLC, or our custom app.
How long can the ROV operate on a single charge? The 220VAC Powered ROV has unlimited underwater operation hours. For the Li-ion battery powered ROVs, the battery endurance depends on the model and usage. Typically, 2–4 hours of continuous operation under normal conditions.
What is the control range? With a tether connection, you can operate the ROV up to the length of the cable (typically 100–300 meters). Wireless control is available for surface or shallow-water testing only.
Is it possible to upgrade the thrusters or add sensors? Yes. Our ROVs use a modular design, allowing easy upgrades such as DVLs, sonars, USBL systems, lights, and HD cameras.

What software is used to control the ROV? Our ROVs are fully compatible with QGroundControl and ArduSub firmware, offering precise control, telemetry data, and mission planning features.
Can the ROV hold depth or position automatically? Yes. The ROV includes barometric depth hold and stabilized flight features. For advanced station keeping, you can integrate GPS (for surface use) or DVL/USBL for underwater positioning.
Is real-time object detection or AI vision supported? Yes. You can enable OpenCV-based real-time object detection and video overlay when connected to a companion computer (e.g. Raspberry Pi or NVIDIA Jetson).

  • Europe / North America: 7–10 days

Do you provide a warranty? Yes. All products come with a 6-month limited warranty covering non-human-damage failures. For more details, see our Warranty Policy.

How should I maintain the ROV after use? After every dive, rinse the ROV and tether with fresh water, check all seals, and inspect O-rings for debris. Regular maintenance ensures long-term reliability.
Can I operate the ROV in salt water? Yes. All units are designed for saltwater operation, but rinsing with fresh water afterward is essential to prevent corrosion.
Is any training required? Our ROVs are designed for both professionals and beginners. You'll receive a quick-start guide and optional online training video after purchase.
